Well, as you can see, I am researching before buying. I went to an audio store today in Watertown, I tried out the Nakamichi 45Z. The wall unit had to be hooked up. I was in love with the sound and the simplicity of the unit. But......... after about 4 minutes of playing a reference standard disc of jazz that had been burned onto a cd'r, it started skipping. Granted the disc face was scratched up, but it still was disappointing. We tried a TDK cd'r, in good condition, couldn't stay on track and play it correctly. Both played on other decks.The tech stated it was an older Nakamichi and they had since corrected the problem. I asked him to install a newer year model and to call me when it was ready to be listened to. I have mixed feeling about the experience. I will keep you posted.
