He may have a creative mind to pull it off, as i would if i had some extra money laying around. Innovation is a very powerful tool in vehicle performance. You start with the proven facts and work off those to create new ideas and technology. Quite honestly, I challenge anyone and everyone to build a twin'd Contour that has a desire to and has the backing. If you pull it off and there are even the slightest marginal advantages you deserve the respect of the CEG forum, and the automotive engineering industry as a whole.
Like Smooth said, its 310 at the crank which means lower at the wheels. Creativity doesn't make the structure of the contour unibody magically move out of the way to make room for a second turbo in a place where one could make a good exhaust manifold for it . . . Either way, the size of the duratech is such that the pros and cons of a single and a twin pretty much cancel out, so either one could be made to perform equally well. Couple that with the fact that it is virtually impossible to pacakage a second turbo, let alone with a good exhaust manifold to it, and it makes a single turbo a far better choice in a contour, and really the only viable option.
If anyone does wish to make a twin turbo in a contour, I say go for it if you want to, but don't come crying to me when pretty much any single setup for it will perform better at a significanlty lower cost, and significantly less work.
There are a lot better ways to expend your creative energy . . .
