I read an article on the CD4E in which a tranny shop installed the updated TSS in an older tranny. The crux of the matter is that on the older trannys, the new TSS creats additional slippage problems rather than solving the bang shift. You might want to find a metal housed TSS at a bone yard & install it in your car to see if that's the problem.

If that doesn't do the trick, you might try getting a valve body that has the CD4Ejr shift kit installed.
