Take:

Dealer invoice
Minus VPP discount (Nissan 2.87% : Infiniti 1.65%)
Plus dealer added options, Security Plus, etc.
Plus 2.5% delivery fee of dealer invoice after VPP discount has been subtracted
Plus destination and handling charge
Plus marketing assessment as applicable
Minus applicable incentives
Equals paticipant's purchase price

Equals over invoice anyway. Good negotiations should get you to similar pricing anyway. My company is eligible fo VPP Business Associates as well, but their pricing is not that great.

yes, but on a car like the G35c 6mt, dealers just aren't negotiating that much. a "really good deal" seems to be anything over $1500 off sticker, vs. invoice being $3500 under sticker. getting over $2k off MSRP seems to be pretty rare, and i certainly don't consider myself to be the best negotiator out there. to get $3k off MSRP without haggling at all may leave $500 on the table, but i'll gladly take it on a low-production, high-demand car like the G35c. and no, i'm not just buying the line of 'stuff' fed by dealers and salesmen - i'm just speaking from watching cars get unloaded off the truck at my local dealer and linger on the lot no more than a couple days before being snapped up.

my dealer is willing to match edmunds TMV, which is about $1300-1400 below MSRP....but probably not willing to go too much lower. certainly not $2k below that, that's for sure.

anyway...all this may be academic at this point, b/c i've spoken with a large-volume, internet-friendly dealer who's offering me a really good deal even w/o VPP....but i have to sell my grand cherokee first, so we'll see how that goes.

Yes, 6MT are hard to come by. And, it was worth asking becuase no-haggle decent price is always welcome when entering a dealership.

That was going to be my next suggestion, using the dealership's internet/fleet contacts. My friend bought a Jetta TDI at invoice price by negotiating via e-mail which was unheard of if you try to walk into a dealership.
