I'm planning on doing a coolant flush, and need to know if the thermostat housing has a gasket, or if RTV sealant will be enough.
Thanks

it has a rubber-like o-ring, i think its technically a gasket. When you take apart the t-stat housing, its right there surrounding the actual thermostat.

I know bout the rubber ring, but that fits between the thermostat and the housing. Isn't a gasket like felpro ones between the two housing parts, or RTV sealant is enough?

No goo, just the O-ring.
I found that rolling it onto the flange of the outlet tube made it easier to get installed properly. It only took me three tries over six months to get that one right.

if you are planing on replacing the thermostat then make sure you get the O-Ring for the thermostat... you dont put anything on it, just the O-ring inside the fitting........ depending on how long it has been on there you might need a new one if it was crushed for a long period of time......
