First off, currently I do not even own a Contour. I am seriously considering purchasing a near perfect 2000 SVT but I have a HUGE concern with this particular car. The car has the warped dash issue, and it's pretty bad off. I know I can still get the kit from Ford to fix it so that part is not a big issue. My biggest concern is removing the dash to install the kit to fix it. I'm sure that once removed, it will never be the same again. Right now, the car I drove has no rattles, or creaks from the dash, I'm sure after removing it and replacing it, there will be some.

So, here is my question; can the repair kit be installed if the windshield is removed? The car needs new glass anyway so I figured that I could have the windshield removed, install the dashboard repair kit, then have the new glass installed. This way, I would never have to remove the dashboard to fix the warpage.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
