Decided last minute I'm going with the LIM from a 2000 CSVT. I'll buy from SP Motorsports, just a question though:

The whole 19 ilb injector deal. It'll come out more expensive to swap out all the green topped ones for the 98 model ones. Should I just buy the harness listed for $100 bucks or is there a way to hook myself up and save cash?

Any info is appreciated guys as always thanks

Bill

I'm kind of confused, but I think your asking basically if the 19lbs will work with the 96? or even new new LIM? I believe as long as you use your previous fuel rail you'll be ok. Should just plug and play.

everything that comes with the spmotorsports 2000 svt lim is for a return style car. Remember, these are factory mistakes so everything is a direct swap. However, when i swapped in my 42lb injectors i did have to splice a couple wires to get the harness to work.

That's what SP sez they're supposed to be and they're 32/33 mm instead.

If you just wanted the returnless LIM (33.5mm/35mm) you could have bought one from car-parts.com for ~$100.

Is this the one from the 2001 Cougar?

Will the clips from the return style injectors fit the new returnless injectors or are we talking splicing?

Demon - you're right ... never even crossed my mind to go used.

The new one is supposed to be a 1999 LIM, but with the return style fuel rail - ie. the larger ports to better match my freshly extrude-honed UIM. In the end, I got the new one optimized by local guys Performance Fords and will keep.

You know it may be a moot point anyway to go larger on the LIM side as the UIM ports that match to the LIM ports were smaller in size when I put the 2 manifolds together off the car.

Yes, but ANY returnless Duratec will have the largest LIM

No, why do you need larger injectors anyway?
