The implementation of most 3-way triaxial speakers sucks. A good tweeter can play reasonably flat from 4000-20kHz. A good midrange can play from 80Hz to 50kHz. So, why would you need another speaker and crossover to taint the sound?
Here's another option for you: Get some tweeters and crossovers now and you can upgrade the mids later. My first setup was a sub, tweeters, some caps and an inductor, and an amp to drive them all. It sounded a whole lot better and allowed me to postpone some better mids and crossovers which I did later.
