No, this isn't another how to, the SEARCH provided me enough info, just curious if it's OK to mount the battery where the spare use to be (as I find all mount either to the left or right). The area is a bit on the flimsy side and I just wanted to be sure before doing it that it was OK. It seems a bit late to ask since I've already ripped off the metal piece that protrudes in the center to mount the spare, but guess better late then never.

It's fine. If it can keep the spare tire/jack from moving around under hard cornering, a battery will be no problem. Just be careful not to drill through the box underneath. I forget what it is/does, but it's something to do with the fuel system.

I mounted mine on the passenger side.

That way the weight was on the opposite side from the driver. Been there 4 yrs with no problems.


Just a Plain SE. AKA Big Country I maybe path914's B**** now, but wait until he needs his clutch done. We will see WHO is WHO's B**** then!

That is the way I did mine too, that is the best way possible, IMO.
