Here's my rig:

AMD Barton 2500
Abit NF7-S (HSF on the northbridge)
2x 256 MB Corsair Low Latency (2-3-2-6) DDR400, even had heatspreaders included!
Some loud-qss Vantec CPU HSF, 5500 RPM, copper HS
Antec SLK3700BLK case, a Solution series case with a 350W PS and a 120mm rear fan
FX 5200 AGP 8x 128MB DirectX9 card, with a HSF for cooling (budget casualty, along with the monitor, but not too shabby)

So, it sounds like I am sitting next to a small hairdryer, ESPECIALLY the CPU fan! But, at right now (been emailing for 45 minutes since I got home) I am running at 31 degC CPU and 21 degC case. After running Prime95 for 6 hours, I peaked out at 48 degC CPU and high 30s case. I'd say there is room to grow as far as heat generation goes. I have it up off the ground, and it moves some serious air through the front vent.

I didn't plan on overclocking right away, and I'm not going to for a bit - at least until after May 3 (my last grad school final). I have the RAM running at 400 MHz DDR, even though the CPU is at 333 FSB. I'm going to run Memtest86 tonight. I know once I go to overclock, I have to bring the RAM back to FSB speeds, but this thing is lightning fast as is for stock settings.

So, what do y'all think? Anyone have some PCs that are as modded as your car?

Never my own...but I did help my old roommate rig his cpu interals into a neon-lit server case...

I used to, back in the day when 3dfx and the slot A Athlons were kings. Had an Athlon 550 at 750 with my GFD. It was great with my Voodoo3.

I have my AMD 2100(stock 1.73Ghz 266 FSB) running 2.2 Ghz with 332 FSB. CPU temp under load are 47c. Overclocking using the frontside bus is safer than using mutipliers and tweaking the voltage. Temp will be more stable too. With a Gforce board like yours you won't have to worry about the affect of your overclock on the PCI and AGP. Don't be in to big a hurry, tweak and test, tweak and test.

Have you tried running the RAM at 333MHz. A machine tends to run smother/quicker/more stable if the RAM runs at the same speed as the FSB.

My setup
--------------------------
MSI K7N2-Delta ILSR
AMD Barton 2500+
Thermaltake Volcano 11+ Xaser heatsink/fan (Houston, you're clear for liftoff)
Kingston HyperX PC3200 DDR (2x512MB)
MSI GeForce3 Ti200 128MB (needs updating but 2 car payments + insurance hinder that)

FSB - 400MHz
Memory - 400MHz
CPU Speed - 2206MHz
CPU Temp - 45 C Peak
Case Temp - 35 C Peak

Keep in mind that temp is with 5 hard drives generating heat as well. Overclocking the Barton 2500+ is so insanely easy it's not even funny. There's no reason to actually by a 3200+ if you don't mind overclocking.

2500 Moble at 11x200 right now.
1 GIG Mushkin BH-5 PC3500 Memtest stable at 250FSB at 3.3v
Radeon 9800 pro 350/370
Fully Watercooled

I am having issue with my video card getting screwy with any vcore setting higher then 1.8v. When I get home tonight I am moving the video card to its own dedicated PSU line. After that is resolved I will bump the CPU up to either 9.5x250, 10x240, or anything in between.

I hope to join the ranks of of the O/C'ers. I just bought a new setup and hope to have it built by tomorrow night (after my CPU fan/heatsink comes in).
MB: DFI Lanparty nForce2 Ultra B
CPU: AMD 2600+ (I Looked at the CPU's serial numbers and it claims to be a Barton 512KB L2 cache and a 333Mhz FSB - I will have to see if this is true or not - bought it "OEM" offa eBay - I got kinda scared when I saw it and hope it's not a FAKE!)
RAM: Geil PC-3200 256MB X 2
These are my new goodies anyway, and then I'll see if I can get the fun to begin.

DFI Lanparty nForce2 Ultra B <--- this is the mobo I am using. The only problem I don't like is the way it handles voltage. The vcore jump by at least -/+ .5 volts! That is crazy and can lead to your system being unstable. Alot have done mods to stablize the voltage but I am to ignorant to even start doing something like that.

If that AMD 2600+ is not unlocked I suggest you cancel the order or send it back. Look for the mobile cpu's.. 2400,2500 and 2600's. I can run my mobile at 10x220 with a vcore of 1.5. My temps average in the 35c range idle and 39c load.
