NM can be quite ghetto, but I could say the same about certain states that are notorious for inbreeding *cough* west virginia *cough* arkansas *cough*.
I will say this, the morning news here in NM is nothing short of depressing. That's why I'll usually only read the papers...the comics section specificly. 
She lives in Kirtland but I think she pretty much covers most of San Juan County.
