Does you car skip in the rev range any?
If so, since you have a 1999, you might want to check your fuel pump/filter. IIRC, they were recalled (on both Zetec and Duratec) and it'll really kill your car's performance. Try checking that.
If it's not that, then I have no idea. You need a V6.
