Me and my roomate are goin to the track when it gets warmer. You guys think 98 stock csvt or a 96 v6 mustang with a 99 v6 mustang engine in it. The stang also has a performance exhaust. The stang probably has around 195 hp. This is just speaking hypothetically for right now. My other roomate also wants to race his honda cbr 954 rr at the track with us...you think i stand a chance

Dude are you serious? You really needed to waste the time to post this again? You just had a handful of people say you would win on a track hands down. Get over it and go do it. Personally I'd rather get rocked at the track by a 11 second Viper than beat a '96 V6 Mustang.

i think he would kill you, considering the 99+ stang v6's are pretty quick... 94-98's are a lil lighter i believe, if its a manual anyway... auto you should be able to smoke hands down...

Didn't MM&FF get a stock 99+ manual trans V6 Mustang to do a 14.9................. Why yes they did!
Please the read the artice:
Quote:
Back in our May 2000 issue, we tested a V6/5-speed model and came away with a string of low 15-second runs in addition to a 14.9 pass, so stock power output is definitely respectable.

Bench racing gives the nod to the 'Stang but real world driving is a whole other situation.
Remember the 94-98 V6 has a whopping 145-150HP with the 99+ getting 190-193HP, more torque, and RWD for an advantage in the launch. 2001+ got 245TQ. I suspect many of these Contour owners encountered '94-'98s or Auto's, that or the 'Stang drivers are just worthless.

Well the csvt is like 3130lbs. So that means he has a weight advantage around the same hp and more torque. That should mean a win for him depending on the driving.

Wrong. It was quoted in the literature that I read when I was in the market as ~3050 lbs.
I didn't know that the V6 mustangs were that light.
I looked up the weight of the v8's and they were 3600 pounds IIRC.
