I'll just say I've raced a 00 V6 5sp stang. It's close off the line, then i pull away, then i pull further away...and so on.
I live in Detroit, I couldn't give a **** how good my car is in the "twisties."

For the weight I was going by what was at www.edmunds.com . FWIW, for the year '98, they have the V8 at the same weight as the V6, so it may not be accurate.

Depending on the driver that settles it , but if you pulled away like that i should win.

Edmunds definitely isn't reliable... though I think the stangs may be a bit heavier than a 'tour (they feel that way), they (newer ones) were designed fairly light though,, fiberglass, etc. so I think the weight difference between a v6 stang and svt contour aren't all that much.... And I think a svt contour stands a good chance against a mtx v6 stang,,, of course it'll kill an auto, a non-svt duratec would kill an auto...

Ok for the record Im going to make this clear so it doesn't have to be talked about anymore, if you are not a complete moron behind the wheel of your car, you WILL NOT LOSE!! No matter what year the Slowstang is!!
Am I the only one tired of the V6 Mustang talk? This has to be the 50th time this has been answered..

I have raced a handful of 99+ V6 stangs and put a good hurten on their ego's. I just have KKM intake. I don't even see it being a drivers race. My 98 CSVT does weigh less than 3K lbs with driver though.

I raced my girlfriend's 2000 V6 Auto Stang. Its dead stock, I have a 98 SE ATX with K&N drop in, Y-pipe, and no resonator. This was her first time at the track I got about a 2 foot lead in first gear, and held it to the end. The V6 Stangs are good off the line, but they don't have anything up high. It's a driver's race.
