What are the streetable limits of the 2.5l CSVT engine running normally aspirated and what does it take to get the engine at its streetable limit?

the best official n/a 2.5L dyno is 192 whp held by demonsvt which was about 2 years ago. Hes since added true duals and a few other mods. Guesses are about 200+ whp.

Streetable limits depends on the person driving and what they will and will not put up with for a "streetable" car

I think headwork is a must if you want to push a considerable amount power.
P&P, 3L exhaust valves, plenty of port matching, etc.
I also think TUNING is a MUST (air/fuel and timing).

Timeless420 just posted a 190 dyno run.

Mine from last June:

I have changed a few things since then, (back to stock wheels 5lbs lighter EACH! , fidanza flywheel, etc) and have a few "up my sleeve" so to speak. Check my signature for a mod list. I'll get back on the dyno as soon as I get my UIM back from extrude hone.

Yep....here's my last run as of the end of May.

Still waiting on my re-programmed chip to come back from Street Flight(run with chip was the lower of the two). Right now I'm pretty happy with the power I'm making and that's why I'm done with the 2.5L and moving on to the 3.0L I have sitting in my garage.

As noted above...200-205 FWHP (240+ HP crank) is probably about the max you could get without going inside the motor. And that is with virtually every intake/exhaust mod + hand detail work and custom. careful ECU programming (see DEMONSVT profile). 2 or 3 people have docummented over 190 FWHP (230 HP crank) with all basic bolt ons. I think 190FWHP is a realistic goal (and I expect several new members in the "190 club" with the Extrude Hone UIM group buy!).

On the other hand, nobody has built up a N/A 2.5...people going inside the engine have gone to 3L (except for one built turbo 2.5L making 390 FWHP or about 470 crank HP!). With forged rods, better bearings, higher CR pistons, headers, true duals, hot cams, Extra Extrude Honed UIM, 3L valves + solid P&P work + upgraded valve hardware + upgraded oiling (ie accusump) + custom ECU programming to 8000+ RPM capability you could get the 2.5L to 300 HP+ crank and be streetable. It just that it would cost ALOT more than a lesser built, similarly performing 3L.
