Who thinks that a 98 csvt with 95000 miles on it for $4500 is a good price. I got about 5or6000 i could spend. Should i buy and put the extra money into mods, or wait on one with less miles. I have had a 98 gl 4 banger for a couple of years and i need an upgrade.

I'd say that's a good deal for an SVT - if it's in good shape.

As with any used car with near 100K miles, expect some upcoming repair/maintenance expenses & don't mod it up right away. Tranny, fuel pump, & alternator come to mind. Get a feel for it's overall condition & be confident it will hold together before you start spending extra money. It is, after all, an SVT. It has likely seen some hard driving.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I paid $6700 in October '02 for my CSVT with 106k miles on it. It had a full dealership service history and the car was a 9/10 cosmetically inside and out. 34,000 miles later it's still going strong with only basic maintenance, a wheel bearing and a ball joint.

That's an excellent price assuming it's in decent condition. There are ones with much higher mileage going for thousands more around here.

Me too, depending on the condition.

Condition is the deciding factor for SVT's, not mileage or price.

I'd buy Big Jim's SVT and he has, IIRC, ~200k on his. If a car isn't looked after, it doesn't matter how cheap it is.
