Maybe this has been discussed a million times, but I sure can't find anything about it searching. Does a spark plug wire cover for a Pre-98 Zetec exist? I've seen a website that sells them for the Escort that look like they might fit, but am not sure. Or am I going to end up custom fabbing one? Thanks for any suggestions!

You can find them on pre98 (or atleast 95) mystique zetecs.... If you get one from a focus, then you will end up having to also get a focus valve cover or tap new holes into your current valve cover. Atleast that's how I think it goes.....

why wouldn't any valve cover bolt up to any zetec engine?  It'd be nice to have one also but it seems to me like only 98+ guys have them and they all say VCT on them also what about the metal(??) one already on the car, does that one come off and get replaced by the plastic one or does the plastic one just overlay it or what?

Yea, that's what mine looks like too. I'm gonna have to look into maybe fabbing one if I can't find a Mystique with one.

1.Valve cover should,,, we're talking spark plug wire cover
2.ZX2s have the covers that 98+ guys can use
3.umm there is no plastic valve cover, only metal for all zetecs,,, the plastic spark plug wire cover attaches to the valve cover... getting one attached from a focus can be the hard part
4.Early mystiques had the spark plug covers, I'm sure you can find plenty in the junkyard,, they were white, just get one, paint it, and bam you have a spark plug wire cover.
