I just want to say that I agree with dave. The shape of a speaker doesn't really affect the way it would sound in; distortion and sound quality. If you look at it, they've come up with square (kicker), triangle (bazooka), and hex (xtant). I've heard both kicker, and the xtant subs. Kicker's square subs honestly, i think sound just as good as their older circular solobaric subs. As for the xtant hex shaped subs, they sound MUCH better than their circular subs from the past. I must agree, that it did scare me when i first seen funny shaped subs. But they were made as an improvement over their past predecessors. As for what has been said with oval shaped speakers, i do agree on the part that they don't usually sound as good as their round speakers, but I think that it's only in part that they focus more on making their rounded speakers better. I would think because they are easier to place around the vehicle, and also because they have been doing it since the dinosaurs were on the earth. So might as well work with something that has already been worked with for a long time.

Anyways, back to the point. Shape of the speaker doesn't mean it will cause more distortion, or have worse sound quality than circular ones. if this was so, then i would've not gone with JL's XR570 (5x7) for my rearfill. They actually make up for some of the midbass i don't have in my car. I am actually thinking of selling those (PM me if anyone is interested), because i will be shoving 8's in my front doors. But like what was said, it doens't matter on the shape of speakers. a good speaker, is a good speaker. Nuff said.

Give me more beer and CEG before i get depressed!
