Question - my Ford service manual makes no mention of this, but are the flywheel bolts torque to yield?

The install procedure would make me believe not, but I want to double check!

Install:

«1997 Contour/Mystique Table of Contents»
«Group 07: TRANSAXLE»
«Section 07-03: Transaxle, Manual--MTX-75»
«INSTALLATION»

...

2. Install flywheel and eight flywheel-to-crankshaft bolts. Tighten bolts to 112 N-m (83 lb-ft) in a criss-cross pattern.

I don't think so, I re-used mine 3 times. TTY usually has a certain torque and then some additional applied force in the terms of "rotate an additional 90 degrees" or something like that.

Thanks! If they'll take 3 re-uses with over 300 lb-ft of tq on your monster I have no worries, saves quite a bit of cash and schedule time!

FYI - for anyone serching this post in the distant future, procyon agrees that they are likely not TTY. He says factory spec is 73-87 NM - which agrees with the engine flyhweel service spec but is lower than the tranny flywheel service spec. I'd be inclined to follow factory numbers. He also cautions that if there is any question replace the bolts due to the magnitude of damage a loose flywheel could do
