Gumball started in '99 or 2000 when Maximillion Cooper decided it would be cool to drive 3000 miles across Europe. They did it again in 2001 in Europe. That race was covered by Jackass. In 2002 it came to the U.S. and was from N.Y. to the Playboy Mansion in L.A. That was covered by Mischief 3000 and video from the various other drivers. 2003 was the race from S.F. to Miami. This one is covered in the Gumball dvd they have for sale. It was a really ghey race for the most part because the cops in S.F. stopped like 60 of the cars before they could get out of the city. They really had a hard time with the cops there but once they made it out didn't have too much more trouble with them. They did have all kinds of problems with time though and were behind and all kinds of other crap. So this year they moved it back to Europe. The route starts in Paris (I believe) and moves down through Spain and into N. Africa before coming back up through Spain and onto Monaco where it finishes in Monte Carlo. The gumball website covers the history but is kinda ghetto, that surprised me some but it still gets the point across.
