I have two questions if you don't mind.

#1 - How long have you been running this exact setup? I saw you mentioned something like 8K miles. Is that on this setup? Or was that just the plugs? I'm just wondering how long you've been making this kind of power and whether reliability is effected significantly.

#2 - How do you think the ole MTX-75 is holding up? Are you having an clutch problems additionally?

#1 He's been running this EXACT setup for a shortwhile, read his post in the Turbo forum for the iterations he's gone through. . .his LAST 3L setup at 5psi was very reliable and had very few problems.

#2 He's upgraded his MTX75 significantly, with new shift forks, a torsen, and a Spec III+lighter flywheel (I don't remember which actually). . .and sounds like he's been ok,

i'll let him answer in detail. . .

I ran a similar setup since March 03. I have had the car down two months while I redesigned the system to be as simple and cheap as I could. It has been running a little over a week. The old system had about 7500 miles on it. The new one has about 4-500.
The plugs are the same ones.

I have a stock SVT flywheel that has been turned, a spec stage3 4-puck bronze clutch and the accompanying pressure plate.
MTX-75
I replaced the shift forks but they don't really factor in to reliability, just smoother shifting.

The only reliability factor for the internal transmission is the Torsen LSD with new bearings and the Redline MTL.
The transmission has taken a beating with 300+ Ft-lbs of torque and so far it is holding just fine.
The axles haven't broke but them my traction is limited so who knows what will happen with a set of drag slicks and that kind of power.

BTW, all this piping design is my own. I went against other people's better judgement in using stock manifolds just to prove that they will work and work well.

Demon and I have been a constant source of motivation for each other about getting car projects done and a springboard to toss ideas off of each other. We don't always agree but between the two of us we usually end up with the correct answer or a logical solution. Despite his brusque personality he is all heart!

Very soon here I am going to be going to be mostly unavailable for a long time. I am leaving on a deployment very soon, details of which I cannot speak of. I will get email access occasionally and I will try to log on and say hello. Eventually I will be back, but suffice it to say that I had to work hard to get this project done in the short time that I had and still make this deadline. I want to help, but you guys are going to have to help yourselves now since I won't be around to do it. I'm sure Greg will help more than ever to make sure there are lots of fast Contours here when I get back.
If you want the turbo piping then you will need someone with some initiative to step up and take over where I have left off.
Good luck

war......

What is the actual cost put into this setup? You have mentioned that it is cheaper but have not offered up any numbers. I have been considering this for some time now and I am very interested in the cost.

Actually I thought of your post as well when I first saw the power curve. It is very V8 and peak like the one you posted.
It looks nothing like the normal SVT power curves.
