So the 1999-2003 3.0L Taurus Duratec engine also uses 24lb injectors?

What about the 1996-1997? I would imagine those are the same as the 1998 engine the skinny blue injectors as well. From your personal experiences of buying salvaged 3.0L engines or seeing other peoples engines, all the fuel injectors in these engines have been 24lb units?

'99+, yes. '96-'97 I have never had any chance to see. Find the part numbers off of each, then research online... there are several places to find injector part numbers vs. cc flow rates. Then all you have to do is the math to convert cc to PPH if you want to. All of the 3L part numbers I have looked up have been very close to 24# units at 43psi. Many GM injectors work too, but you have to convert the flow rate from 40 psi testing pressure compared to the Ford's 43 psi rated pressure.

Bnoon, I was browsing OV3N's recent pictures of the 2001 Escape motor he recently received. About the sixth picture down I noticed the fuel rail and injectors. The injectors are the pencil style cream in color. I am assuming they are 24lb injectors, but why cream? They look identical to the 17lb injectors found in 2.5 duratecs. Is Ford trying to mess with my fragile little mind? Most 2000 up injectors I have seen are pencil style with a light grey finish.

Color has nothing to do with flow rate. I've seen creme pencil injectors in 17#, 24#, and 36# from the same manufacturers. Look for part numbers, then search the web to find the flow rates or look through an injector parts book.
