Young Gun,
I honestly can't say as I haven't heard those subs. Also I do not know how to compare subs based on specs alone well enough to be able to give you a solid opinion. Wait for Dnewma04 (That is Dave) to post on this topic before you decide. What I can tell you is that it does sound better than anything else I've heard.
The PB is a very efficient subwoofer, the cone on it will move just as quickly on a 15" as on the 10" I suppose a 15 with a thicker surround and a heavy cone would have trouble with higher frequencies(heavier reciprocating mass) but the PB15 does not have that problem. Like I said, a 20Hz tone will sound slow because it is slower than 30Hz. The difference is that the 20Hz tone isn't played with the 10" or 12" because it can't, and since that tone is missing and all you hear is the higher tone, it seems "faster" Rest assured the PB15 will hapilly play anything from below 20Hz up into the hundreds (Max Xover is recomended at 500Hz)
The biggest problem with the PB15 is that you cannot hear it before you buy it, which is probably why so far only three of us have them on here despite thier high praises and great specs.
If you are worried about overheating the sub, I can't see it happening unless you go insane. If you look at the picture, the thing has 10 vents under the voice coil and the motor used in the PB uses a copper faraday which absorbs heat from the voice coil. It is a very sturdy peice of equipment. I will never get rid of it.
As I said, you obviously seem to want only the best, so be patient and wait for Dave's response. He knows more about this crap than anybody else you will ever talk to. He reads up on this for fun. He originally recommended the 15 to me over two 12s. I thought he was insane at first but after he explained it all to me I went ahead and ordered it. No regrets!
