I've heard Gibsons father ranting in a interview he did saying the Nazi's did not/could not have killed very many Jews during WW II. He said they all immigrated to the bronx, then proceeded to talk about how all Jews are lazy and are "pencil pushers".

I'm Agnostic but damn. If you don't think Mel had his father ranting at him for 18+ yrs about this and it didn't affect the movie, your wrong.

I also heard the filming of the Jews in the movie were always taken at a side profile thereby giving way to the stereotype of the big nosed Jews.
