Get a couple of estimates for the repair, then go back to the dealer and tell then you want a check to cover the cost of the repair at ANOTHER body shop. Also tell them that others at the dealership grufly offered to repair it, but you were treated so badly you don't trust them, thats why you want a third party to do the repairs. Why use your insurance to cover this?

Don't mess around with the little guys. Find out who runs the place and talk to them. If it had happened to them, they would be made as hell. Why shouldn't you be, and why shouldn't he/she understand that?

To cover it with your own insurance it to PREVENT accountability where it is needed. Accidents happen folks, but when dealerships are unable to own up to this fact and make it right is unacceptable.

In summary:

1. Your dealership damaged my car.
2. Your dealership refuses to own up to it, but suspiciously agrees to do the required repair.
3. When you spoke to the body shop guy, he treated you like crap. You have no confidence that he gives a damn about the quality of the work he does.
4. Combination of 2 and 3 means dealership has no ownership in making things right for you.
5. Would "Mr/Mrs Big" tolerate this kind of crap?
6. Have estimates ready and demand that it be paid.

Good Luck
