The right side's great, but the left side just dribbles. I tried "cleaning" the nozzle with a pin, and that improved it to a SMALL stream, but the water barely reaches the wiper in the down position, and can't reach the rest of the windshield, while the right side sprays so well, half of it went over the roof.

So I just need to "flush" the system with more water? Or is other something else I can try?

On a 96 the rubber tubing may be shedding rotted rubber from the inside and clogging the tip.

Suggest you replace the washer tubing and run plain water through the system.

the plastic nozzles on the hood of the contour must be cheap the dealer sent my contour our as it needed some repaint from sitting in the lot and had some marks on it.. the hood area had to be repainted.. the body shop guys brought it back to the dealer when i was there....... they they went the parts dept. and bought two nozzles as they broke them when taking them off to paint the hood.......
even cleaning with a pin might not help... the hole might be too enlarged and will not make the stream of water shoot out enough..... think of it this way:
you got a garden hose.. the tip is plugged up so you dont get any water.... you dig it out and the water comes out and falls to the ground.... or you could put your finger on the end of it and you get a nice big squirt...... thats might be what you need... a smaller hole in the end... a new nozzle.....

Tubing's fine. I've went under the "matt" and disconnected the tube to test it, water's coming out of the tubes. It's the nozzle.

Now this is weird. After the car came back from the body shop, the Driver side sprays fine, but the passenger side is the one that "dribbles" now. Weird, heh?
