I have now purchased all 4 of my 18" tires, and am ready to start in on the rim scene. But there are a couple different 4-lug patterns, right? Like 4x100, 4x4.5, 4x114.3, and a few others. But most 4-lug rims seem to have a 4x100 pattern and one other random pattern.
Here is my question: Which bolt pattern will I need? Will a "4x100" pattern work with my 'tour? I can't seem to find this info anywhere!
Thanx!

So these wheel vendors I've been looking at in various places, they say the Contour and the Escort have the same bolt patterns... WTF? Is that true? I keep getting more and more confused the more I probe and question this deceptive and annoyingly complicated topic. I don't want to buy wheels with the wrong bolt pattern. Is the chart below correct? http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com/Ford___Vehicle_Bolt_Pattern_Reference.cfm

its very simple. Basically, a wheel will have 2 different lug patterns. Either 4x100 and 4x114 or 4x100 and 4x108. that is usually it. I have yet to see a 4x114 by 4x108. It is usually ONLY 4x100 with either of those 2 other patterns.
It is pretty hard to find rims with a 4x100 pattern and 4x108 pattern. They are usually 4x100 and 4x114. Basically, you have to ask the seller if they are 4x108. If not, then nothing else will fit your car. hopefully that makes more sense to you.

I used to have an Escort and the bolt pattern between Escort, Contique, and also the Focus is the same.

Well, it is for some of the late 80's Escorts. Somewhere in there they changed from the "European" Escorts to the "Mazda" Escorts with the 4x100. I think that was the early 90's.
Function before fashion.

Hey, when you say "4x114", do you mean "4x114.3"? If so, I think I found some nice rims...

Wait, looking back over this thread, you said 4x108mm or 4x4.25". Never mind, I get it now; I am simply on a large dose of crack at the moment.

4X114.x are for Accords and 4X100s are the most common: Civics, Jettas, the list goes on. That's why there are so many for that bolt pattern. Ours is 4X108 as mentioned above and that is the Focus bolt pattern also. The aftermarket is growing for Foci, so keep looking. Good luck. Oh, try Konig. I know they make many wheels in our bolt pattern.
