For $35, those speakers will be an improvement over the stockers and probably a good place to start. Ohm is the unit of measure of resistence. Voltage = current times resistance (V=IR). A speaker is just a resister in an electrical system. So, each one is rated with it's resistance. The lower the resistance, the higher the current for any given voltage, thus harder for an amp to drive.
