I believe 2-way for front isn't very good - i suggest you go for 3-way , Also i think - you should get a SUBwoofer, not a woofer.
Cutting metal is not that hard - you need a scissors for metal and pliers. Also - get a 4ga amp wiring kit
I'll post pic's of how to get thru firewall shortly.

All of it isn't hard - it just takes time.

You may want to check out my install page

I would not pay $110 for a 6x9 speaker if I were getting a sub. $110 can get you a nice set of components. I'd even use the stock speakers as mid-ranges, get some stwwters and crossovers, and a sub before I pay $110 for an axial speaker. I generally do not like triaxial speakers as the crossovers are usually not very high quality. A good 1" dome speaker can play 2500-20kHz. A good 6.5" can play 80Hz-5000Hz. Round speakers require a baffle, no cutting of sheet metal.

That Clarion 10" driver looks very nice, but I believe they are designed for use as a pair. 2-ohm stable mono amps are more expensive. Maybe try a Blueprint which would require a smaller enclosure too.

That Clarion works well in a .4 cu ft enclosure. Get two of them for 50.00 and run them off of an amp in 2ohm stereo or 4 ohm (series wiring) mono. 100w per sub would be great.

First, I have to replace front speakers as I already blew one.

If you DONT recommend spending $100 on 6x9's, should I buy the cheap $35
Blaupunkt T-Line 6"x9" Speakers PCxt693 for the front and back?

As for tweeters,etc.......I don't know ANYTHING about that stuff or how to wire it.
Does anyone have good tutorial on this?
Also, should I buy Clarions??
What does running in 2ohms mean?
I dont even know what an ohm is.
I just dont know where to go to learn this and planning on starting a webpage about this kind of stuff, if none exists.

It all depends on how much you want to learn. Yes, all the information already exists on the web somewhere. For $35, those speakers will be an improvement over the stockers and probably a good place to start. If you can handle this install, you can later upgrade and won't be throwing away a lot of $$$ worth of stuff. If you decide to, I have my tweeteres mounted here. At first, they were just stuck on with velcro, but later and in that picture, I cut holes in that plastic peice for a flush mount.

Ohm is the unit of measure of resistence. Voltage = current times resistance (V=IR). A speaker is just a resister in an electrical system. So, each one is rated with it's resistance. The lower the resistance, the higher the current for any given voltage, thus harder for an amp to drive.

Does anyone have pics of how the 6X9's fit in the doors. I would like to get new speakers all around but I am sick of having big systems. Especially. when some punk just wants to rip it off. I wasn't sure if the 6X9's would fit, but there is so much more of a variety out there for speakers. I haven't checked all of my options, but has anyone had any luck with the Alpine speakers? I have had Infinity's MB Quarts, and JL's, but now I want a really good all around speaker instead of components.

Thanks!!

Go infinity for the 5x7's, however look into cutting out a wood baffle and installing it in factory 6x8 location. Then cut it out and install a 6 1/2 with the tweeter mounted below this is what I did and it's sounds incredible and is really easy to do. If you are going to go the other way using the 2 or 3 ways use 3 ways in front and 2 ways in the rear. 3 way's will give you a better soundstage up front for you the driver. Never mix front and rear speakers, in terms of brands it's not proper to do so, it will not hurt but sound wise you want to use the same speakers in the front and in the rear (referred to as timber matching). Remember to your front and rear speakers are not designed to blow your doors off with bass for that get some subs and a decent amp so that you have each speaker producing it's proper frequency.

Ok,
I'm buying Blaupunkt's for now for the front.

As for tweeters, I want to do same thing this person did which is this .

What brand tweeters should I get?
How do they hook up to head unit...simply splice cables that good to the FL and FR speakers?

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!!
I will keep you guys posted on what I go with.

Kirill,

How come you didn't stick with Infinities in the front and back? By the way thanks for the pics!
