First off I am a contour owner, but its my sister's Jimmy thats giving me a hard time. I changed her brakes for her and a got grease on the pad side of the pad.. Does anyone know if this would cause the brake system to heat up and smoke? Would this cause the brakes to stick? If so would I need to replace the pads with more new ones as far as contamination is concerned? Please help.

I don't think that it would make the brakes stick. Cleaning with brake cleaner should get rid of the grease (you should do it anytime that you change the brakes anyway).

Did you grease the caliper slide pins? Not doing it could be part cause of the sticking.

Didnt grease any pins. Are those the ones located on each end of the caliper with the small boots over them?

What "grease" was it?

If you get fluids on the pads even new ones they are junk then. They are only suppoused to get water on them and thats about it.

Did you spray "Brake quiet" on the side that touchs the caliper, if not you can do that while you lubrciate the caliper sldie pins which should be done anyways.

With them sticking, you mean they are sticking to the rotor and when she drives and it smokes. Cause could be bad caliper, pistons in the caliper not returning.
