does anyone think that i will have any problems running 225/45 18's on my Superleggeras with a stock SVT suspension, or would it be better to go with 225/40 18's? i belive that they are 18x7's also if i were to go to the H&R springs would i run into problems?

Thanks

All i can say is I have not had a problem with my setup before or after the suspension change.
18x7 with 42mm offset
225/40 tires i think, if its different ill let you know
H&R spring

I was concerned about rubbing but it hasnt been a problem. I have about a finger tip of space between the tire and strut and it seems to be enough. I asked a million and one question before i did this some reported problems and others didnt. I think its the ways our cars are made that day as to whether youll have a problem or not. since the 45 series tires are a lil wider you maybe pushing the envelop, so i would play it safe with the 40s.

BTW im jealous of your superleggras.

correction, I said that wrong....45 series are a lil taller. You may have a lil problem when turning with those. Anything wider you could have a problem with strut clearance

thanks for the reply.

oh and thanks for the compliment on the super's, i bought them off a focus guy and the tires are just way too low-pro for my liking.

Be careful of that 18x7 as the 7" width is too small for most of the 225 tires. They like to see a 7.5 or 8.0" rim.. Too wide a tire will lead to premature tire failure..

many people run 225 on stock svt and non svt rims, i believe both are 6.5"'s wide. i ran 225's on mine with no problems at all.

What he said. I run that size tire on a 7.5 inch rim.
