Sorry to post the same question again I just wanted to be a little more complete with what is going on with my contour. From the first responses I received I see I really did not do a great job describing all of the details. Thanks for your help and comments.
1996 Ford contour 2.0L 4 CYL. Zetech engine 110,000 miles.
This car is by NO means a race care as I am sure you can tell. It used to be very quick around town and now it is very sluggish. I drive back and forth to college 4 days a week about 120 miles a day.
So the car was not running good and the check engine light came on. I replaced-Plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, radiator fluid and O2 sensor at the manifold. Doing all of these repairs did improve the general running of the car a small bit, but now this is whatâ??s going on.
Auto Zone says â??Bank 1 engine running to lean, we donâ??t know what it isâ?.
The car starts right up quick but runs rough for the first few minutes even on the hottest days. After warming up acceleration is kind of sluggish at low rpms and when I stomp on the pedal the thing really has to work hard to get up to speed.
My questions.
Did I replace the correct sensor Bank 1 at the top of the manifod.
Where is the PCV valve? Someone mentioned that, could it fix my problem?
What about MAF Sensor, I cleaned it but no help.
Catalatic converter ?
My car runs the same with or without a Throttle position Sensor. I unpluged it and there was no change so I thought it could be bad. I then bought a new one and installed it and still no difference. Whats up with that?
Sorry for the length and redundancy, I just cannot afford to replace every component on the car.
