Well, I've installed my silver reverse gauges and they don't work. I see no light at all!!

here's what I've done

Here's the gauges

Here's the wiring.

I've GLUED the gauges down to the cluster, I can remove them if I need to, but it'd be a beyatch.

I had to trim the cluster a little, and on the power connectors for each gauge face I bent it up a little. But not enough to break anything. The cluster cover pushes them down, again not enough, nothing is snapped.

I'm testing the gauges with power from my car stereo connection ( i cut the wires to the stereo for a bit) and I'm grounding it with the ground wire from the stereo. there's power there, but no lights.

AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG? IS THERE A SPECIAL CONNECTION SEQUENCE FOR THE LIGHTS? ALL THE PLUGS ARE IN.

I'm just stumped since NONE of them work. DO YOU THINK IT COULD BE THE POWER RELAY? The only thing I did there was cut the metal frame that holds the switches so I could mount them in the dash.

HELP I'M LOST AND PISSED!!!!

Could it be something as simple that you're using the switched power wire from the stereo instead of the constant?

I am using the switch wire to test it only. There's power to it when the key is turned so the lights should go on. I tested the circuit and my little circuit light went on...

I think it's a bad power relay from the switch. It goes into that black box thingy and something must be wrong there.

I'm emailing the guy I bought it from for another one to be sent...

Sheet!!!!

Moderator, why wouldn't this go into troubleshooting?

I wired my ballast power to one of the little light bulbs on the back of the gauge cluster (find + and - first). Have you tried turning the brightness knob all the way up? And on the dimmer switch on the dash?

Did you test them before you put them on? Could be a bad ballast.

Oh, and this wouldn't go into Troubleshooting, since this is an Aesthetic Mod.

Well Chris. I've turned it all the way up & down. I'm test wiring it right into my power wire that goes to my stereo, and using that ground as well. Power is flowing since the circuit tester lit up when I touched the postive & negative (with the key on)

I've played with the overlay connections & such thinking they might be messed up. Nothing.

The only thing I did was to cut the metal holder for the switches so I could mount them into that dash plastic insert piece. I thoroughly checked the switch & dimmer to make sure I didn't damage them. Nothing.

It could be a bad ballast. I've e-mailed the guy and will call on Monday for a new wire.

It never crossed my mind to test it. It's pretty much solid state and looked pretty good to me. It's only wiring... It's not impossible to remedy, a new set, if it's just the main wiring will take a day to re-mod for the interior switch. And I will test it FIRST!!

anyone have similar problems?

I have a question... whered you get those? Those are sweet looking... but good luck on getting those to work. BTW was it too much trouble to install besides not getting them to work?

Not sure if the silver ones are there but:: www.procarparts.com and they are a slight PITA to install, with having to cut parts of the cluster to get the connectors to fit (they could have put the electrical connectors pointed down and it would all easily run out the bottom of the cluster) and they are a little hard to get put on just right, but not too big of a deal... I still gotta rewire mine... Could definitely be a bad ballast, I've heard before about the ballasts being bad straight from the company.

I had accidently severed one of the connections to the dimmer switch, which interrupted the circuit and it didn't work.

Taking it apart I discovered my error and re-soldered it. Problem solved!!!

Just waiting on glue & such to dry then I'm back to 100%

!!!!!!!!!!Thanks everyone for the suggestions!!!!!!!!!!1
