I'm going to to swap a Zetec ZX3 motor with a Duratec 2.5 V6 and wanted to know where to buy one. Is there any info I should know about tricking out the Duratec? Where is the best place to buy Duratec parts cheapest? Has anyone done this swap? Are all the FOrd O2 Censors ect.. the same on the compact models? Any info that could help me would be greatly appreciated.

I can't answer many of your questions. The one I can answer is if soemone has done the swap. The answer is yes. The guy I sold my S/C to is putting a 2.5L duratec in his Focus. I'd say find a 3.0L if your gonna go through the hassle. Good luck!

Exactly, a 3L Duratec would be the best way to go. Same engine and stroke, just a larger bore size. Check the 3L forum for more details on it and the possible options. If a search doesn't give you the answers you need, PM me and I'd be happy to help out.

One company/person put a 3L in a focus wagon with a turbo and were pushing around 400hp.

I don't know many of the details of it, but SVT had originally designed the SVT Focus with an SVT contour engine inside. I don't know what actually happened to the idea, but I imagine the install wouldn't be too difficult since the trannys are similar (MTX-75s). Plus you probably have more room under the hood that a contour does. SVT website

The SVT 2.5 has been put into a focus before and isn't that difficult IIRC. You would find alot more info on this on the focaljet.com forums.
