I don't know many of the details of it, but SVT had originally designed the SVT Focus with an SVT contour engine inside. I don't know what actually happened to the idea, but I imagine the install wouldn't be too difficult since the trannys are similar (MTX-75s). Plus you probably have more room under the hood that a contour does.
