thanks everyone.....i'm glad everyone understood the philosophy behind the design.....and yes you're absolutely right about loosing db because of the steel plates on the back of the seats...i have an idea for this and i'll let you all know if it works....

yes those little 8's can hit the lows...that is why i still have em' (they're like 6 years old) laugh i have my cross-over tuned to 45-47 hz and they hit really good, not to say that ocassionally that hit a flat spot...but they are only 8's.....(w/ big F^@%!$& magnets.. laugh )

right now to hear optimum sound from my subs, i have to keep the seats down....now obvisouly this becomes a P.I.T.A. when you're running around and such, and have to keep putting the seats up and down every time you get in and out of the car....but i'm pretty happy with it.
