Now before you tell me to go search...heres what I'm referring to.
the SVT exhaust has 2.25" piping which is obviously good, but we all know the mufflers are the restrictive part.
Now to my knowledge, no one on here with an SVT exhaust on their zetec has left it completely stock...unless I'm having a memory loss (maybe DDavis)?
Just wondering if I left it completely stock would I see any gains?
Having no res and no rear muffler right now makes me want to have my exhaust as quiet as possible...

Yeah you'll see gains, but I bet you'll wanna remove mufflers or something on it. This summer or spring I'm gonna get bigger pipe and muffler on mine, I'm gonna be doing a LOT more highway driving and the drone gets tiring, tonite I drove home going bout 50mph on highway so I could easily talk on cell phone without car noise.

my plan was stock res w/ straight pipe instead of rear mufflers (original huh ) but damn my exhaust is so loud right now...I just want some peace and quiet at the same time, I want some gain from this setup.

Hey man, you'll definately feel the gain going to the bigger pipes. Not really a throw you on your ass gain, but with intake (which I know you already have) you'll have a noticable improvement. My SVT exhaust was all stock. No real difference as far as I could tell when I cut off the mufflers exept for sound wise. It's a nice growl, way better than stock SVT exhaust with all parts intact.
You've seen the videos of my ride man, If you want I can E-mail them to you so you can hear them again. Just shoot me a PM if you want.

My plan is to use the SVT system but replace the res with a Flowmaster 60 series, dump the rear mufflers and finish it out with polished stainless.

The reason there's so much ignorance is that those who have it are so eager to share it.

I like the SVT exhaust cause it's all mandril(sp) stainless steel. I've left it all original and people argue with me that it is a V6. hehehehe anyway before with just the intake I got 23 to 25 mpg and when I drove it 6.5 hours after it installed from the base to Fallon Nv wich goes over Donner Pas at Lake Taho it got a little over 30, but normal back and forth to work are mid to upper 20's. Also I did notice a difference in power. But those are just my inputs. Beleive it or not but I drove it 165 miles like that at night and got some weird looks.

Yes, mine is stock. I got no noticeable gains (maybe 1 HP peak) but I did dyno it for everyones' curiousity. The big positive is that I didn't lose any power.
I've been thinking of chopping off the mufflers and replacing the res. w/ some type of low restriction muffler. But first I need to get the thing running again
