I'm assuming a 125cc kart, not a Super Kart which would beat the SVT all teh way past its top speed of 140.
Obviously this would have to take place on a track or in a praking lot, but how long do you think it would take for the Contour to catch up with the kart? Could it catch up in a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile?

A real shifter cart could beat any car in a race.
They have a power to weight ratio somewhere along the line of a Saturn V rocket.
I remember some being tested at ridiculously fast 0-100mph (I.E. faster than any sport bike)
They pull well over 1 G. One model was like 2G's

It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

The shifter Kart would win, they are light, and they accelerate very fast!!!

They're definitely not faster than your typical sportbike, but plenty quick. Might feel even quicker than a sportbike seeing as your butt is about 3" off the ground.
Wicked handlers though.
I'd love to have one.

I have a 100CC Yamaha KT-100 kart that I think would beat my SVT up to about 60, but then I start to run out of puff and gear. I think eventually the SVT would catch up with a 125 shifter, I just don't know how long it would take. More a mental excersize then anything. Usually my kart stays right with my car because I strap it to the roof to bring it to the track.

I have a 125 shifter cart with a blue printed motor and the works. My roommate has a 2002 R-6 street bike. My go-kart is a hair faster than his bike in accelleration and turns. Top speed of course goes to the streetbike. Gokarts are fast as @*&!.
