The university needs to decide whether a big-time football program that brings in a ton of money is worth more than the potential national black eye and NCAA probation they might get. Problem is, to most schools the $$$$$ is the driving factor. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same in Boulder...

I'm not quite a neandrathal, but I do have some old fashioned values. I hold the door open for a woman. I try and curb profanity around them.
I'm also open minded. Women belong almost everywhere men do. At NASA, in race cars, Politics, and as a fighter jock.
I hope the justice system does not fail the victem. If she ws raped then the rapists should pay. If, however, she was offended by locker room banter, then tough. She asked to be a part of a mens team. I also think the coach is remarkably un professional. He should pay as well, for any crimes he's found guilty of and for being a sub par represenative of the university.
Here's the rub, I do not think women belong everywhere. Not on a mens college football team. Most definitely not at the Citadel or VMA. I don't want girls in the boy scouts and I don't want boys in the girl scouts. Some traditions are worthwhile.
This from a happily married man (whose wife is a successful carrer woman)and father of a daughter whom I hope becomes a racecar driving rocket scientist philanthropist.

HOWEVER, I do still think that the coach's comments about the sex of the kicker making her a worse kicker is a outta line. He's still going to burn for that one.

CU gets a lot of prestige and high marks, but there' s a lot of corruption, STDs, an astounding number of on-campus rapes, and A LOT of alcohol related arrests.  In fact, if we looked it up, it's probably among the worst in the country in those categories.

Don't ever say a girl shouldn't be able to come out about being raped. Most women at that age don't know the law is on their side, they don't file a police report and then on top of that they will blame themselves. She prob went public because she couldn't get her day in court and this is her only way of getting her justice, via telling the world about it.

1. I'm telling the cops first, NOT a columnist for the Sports Illustrated. Dunno about you, but Rick OReilly won't be able to do a damn thing about it. If I'm raped, I'm looking for justice, not fame and attention. In no way do I think a girl SHOULDN'T come out and say she was raped, all I'm questioning is HOW she did this. (should have explained this in my previous post)

Bullchit. She didn't get her day in court because she never informed the proper authorities. Telling the coach, what's that gonna do??? Even though he SHOULD report it, but no coach would hurt his team, especially with the competitiveness of college football. At 19, she's smarter than that.
If she truly wanted justice, she'd be at the police stations writing up reports and complaints, not sitting in a comfy chair taking questions for a all-star columnist, ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE KNOWS WHO DID IT.
Right now, it's all accusations anyway, and until I see some proof that this happened, it's gonna be just that, accusations.
She got verbally assaulted, which is unfortunate and it's far from OK, but what the hell did she expect? She's going into a locker room full of macho guys, trying to be competitive in a all-male sport, when she obviously wasn't.
Men sports = men only
Women sports = women only
