The Glock is a proven weapon and is in service everyfreakingwhere, however a simple search will find it is not without controversy in terms of safety.
Fit is the most important factor. You must have the dexterity and comfort for whatever weapon you choose. If you don't, some amount of your attention will be focused on the weapon in your hand instead of a threat.
