Check out CZ that make good guns for left handers!

The problem with America is stupidity.
I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment
for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety
labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Indeed. best purchase I ever made.
Another friend of mine (quite the gun nut) also had a Compact Custom like mine. He sold his and then went through about 5 different carry guns before he admitted that he made a mistake in selling the Kimber.

Kimber is VERY nice (I personally prefer Wilson Combat for a .45), but if he's got a petite lady on his hands, the grip is going to feel like grabbing the thick end of a baseball bat.
A small-frame .45 is going to be somewhat of a hand-cannon for a smaller lady in terms of recoil, too.
I'm stereotyping here a bit, but I've ran into very few dainty ladies at the gun range that were slinging large-caliber, small-frame autos and for good reason...
If she's got the muscle, control and hands for such a piece, go for it.

It's too bad us Canadians can't participate in this conversation. IN Canada, the only people with handguns are the gangbangers and the police. Of course, all these guns are properly registered with the government ...I think Hitler and the Nazi's originated the idea of gun control....

I've never shot a Kimber...hmmm..
I've got a Sig P229 (40S&W) and a HK USP 9mm. It's a tough call as to which one I like better!

something to remember: 9mm is not considered a self defense round for the simple fact that 1 round will not stop a cranked out junkie or coke fiend. so choose a weapon thats reliable not just comfortable, and be prepared to loose more than 1 shot if you're going to use a 9mm.
i've had a 9mm before and i plan to purchase another one shortly. because of my goddamn aching computer nerd wrists i dont enjoy shooting a 45, kinda feels like punching a brick wall.
additionally, if she has a smaller palm, like i do, 1911 framed weapons are definately a big plus, compact and sub-compact 1911's and beretta cougars and mini cougars are really the only weapons i'd rely on to cary for the simple matter that i cannot reach all of the function levers on larger framed weapons. anything with a double stack mag is uncomfortable too.

See, that's where you can start to go crazy rationalizing what to carry. If you can double-tap a 9mm or .380 comfortably but not a .45, does that make up for the single-hit difference between the smaller rounds and the flying ashtray?

Good point. ANY handgun is lethal as long as you take the time to practice and become accurate with it. I have a .45, 9mm, .380, .357 handguns and while I do prefer the knockdown power of the .45 I know I can readily defend myself with any of them if needbe. It's all about what the particular user is comfortable and confident with using.

The only problem here is a situation where you may ONLY have the chance to get one shot off... frankly, I'd rather know my ONE shot will knock said assailant off their feet, rather than just punch a small hole, and hope they fall over.
