It's going to boil down to personal taste. I've yet to shoot a Glock that I like, but I won't deny that they have an insane reputation for a quality gun.
I ran my wife through a number of sidearms and the best one that fit her was the Sig p232. It's .380 but it fits her hand like it was molded for her and she got quite accurate with it in a very short amount of time.
I'd have her pick up a few other guns if at all possible. I own a Beretta, admire HKs but swear by Sig.
