My friend is putting a home computer into his Blazer, he's already had it hooked up a few times but he's working on getting it all mounted and clean looking. He's got a touch screen, and there's some other stuff he's doing, anyways it's gonna be real cool, and from what he says, it's not hard at all to do. He's 17 and not a computer-whiz at all. On a side note, friend of mine got a 15" flip down screen for his frontier.

I wish I had pics of my buddy's old blazer. He had an 88 up on 33s and a full mp3 system w/2000Watts going to 2 15s in a bandpass.
Traded it in on an intrepid.... but he just bought another blazer.
Anyway, that install would have been a PITA in a 98+. I was blessed with din heaven in my 96 console. But it looks good overall.

I cant see why the wireless card wouldnt work, just hope the signal is strong enough to make it to your pc. I dont know of any service you could buy that uses 802.11, perhaps sprintpcs is a solution. They have a pc card available for laptops and you can surf the net using their vision network.
The rca video output card would work with a indash monitor but i doubt the resolution would be any good. if your only in it for video and mp3 playing you maybe able to get by with the indash display, otherwise you may wanna get a true pc monitor with vga connector.

T-mobile I know provides 802.11b access from hotspots for $20.00 ? a month they have hotspots in places like borders and starbucks arond here. If you want to look at different video solutions I would suggest reading the display forums at http://www.mp3car.com I dont think RCA connections are very good for computer video if you want to read it much but other people are fine with it.

I worked for a wireless ISP for a while. You have about a 2 mile range from the tower. Places like T-Mobile sell cellular access, which you will rarely if ever get above 28.8 kbps. On a fast wireless server (500K,T1), if you can't visibly see the tower, there is no connection. Also, they're RARE. I believe there are only 3 or 4 in OHIO and only 1-3 towers each.

Cingular also has wireless cards for your computer, though I think it just uses cell towers, so it won't be whooping fast. Though in maybe the next 5 years or so, the new networks will be out (tmobile is supposed to be first rolling it out, though who really knows) which will provide high speed data capabilities and more world networks (what i mean is same phone you use here, you can use in europe, china, or wherever).
