My system is sitting on the desk in pieces waiting to go in (spring break). I'll be running a 500mhz, 64 mb ram system with 6 gig hdd til my 100 comes in for the pc, then it gets a 20 gig. All I have left to get are the remote and the power setup. The LCD is going where the hvac/stereo go, and the cd player has already been relocated. hvac will be on spring break. I'm not worried about games or applications other than the mp3 and dvd software I'll be running.

after free system, $50 parts machine, LCD, and misc parts, right around $200.

I'll be whoring pics as soon as its in.

Also, go to www.mini-itx.com they have systems much cheaper than that canadian site, and smaller too.

Where did you relocate the cd player and where will you relocate the hvac?

HVAC is going below the cd player so I have that whole nice big area above for my LCD. The ashtray and lighter are going bye bye.

...and yes, all the trim is going to be painted that day too.

I'm awaiting spring to do my mp3 "computer" install too.
Mine is quite a similar idea.

I'm not gonna reveal alot, but I will say that it is running a palm os, won't need a converter, and the screen will be touch.

Total estimated price? 350 bucks...

I dont know if you assessed the work yet but the HVAC wires will have to be extended and and theres also small vacuum tubing that my limit where you can move it to. You may have to cut away some plastic behind consoles also, but you shouldnt have any other problems moving it there though.

I wish I had that center console like yours it would have made my install so much simpler. Ive gone through so many versions and i ended up mounting the monitor under the radio. The short throw shifter is still in the way but tolerable for the moment. I still want a more integrated look though so i may give it another shot.

you've never clipped a wire and soldered in some extension? And vaccuum tubes are even easier. clip, pop in the adapter, and done. I don't want my car to be anything like anyone elses. I don't mind doing a little work to acheive that. (I know, I've seen it done before too).
