I lost my car to a fire and now I am in the market for another car. I have been looking at a cariety of cars, but it comes down to I want a four door car with potential of being as fast as my GTI (13.3 quarter mile and demon on the highway). I have been reading about the Contours and was couldnt find a good answer as to how much boost the engine can handle and how much hp the tranny could handle. I would raterh go S/C but it seems that everyone is going turbo around here and maybe that is an easier route. Any suggestions on what car to look for? Like what year Contour? I want leather for sure, and preferably the newest body style. I am comparing getting an SVT Contour versus a 2000 and up 1.8t Jetta or a 2002 and up 1.8t Quatrro Audi A4.

3 liter from what? Does the engine come forged stock? Turbo kit from where? What is the best turbo kit? What kind of boost does ti run? That is the kind of questions I am wondering. I am not looking to swap an engine though. I am not looking for a project car. I want to stay away from turbo. They are nothing but hassles. Supercharged cars have always worked best for me. Unless they come stock turbo.

You're definitely going to want to read up on the Contours... If you want this thing to run anything close to a 13.3, you're going to have a project car on your hands... This will most likely mean, doing a 3.0L swap with a turbo... The Supercharger I believe is not even an option anymore as Vortech was the only company making one for the Duratech, and the word is that they stopped producing them... You can purchase the turbo kit from Street Flight for $5000, and if you look into the 3.0L, you can get the block from a Taurus or Sable 99+... If low 13's are on your mind, go with forged rods/pistons and crank the boost up on the turbo... You can PM Keyser(I think) for the rods/pistons... Good luck

Eh nevermind, sounds like too much money. I will probably jsut end up building another vr6 monster. I have the supercharger, brackets, and ecu still. So I am halfway there already.

When you put the Bilsteins and Eibachs on your car, did it lower it or what? I'm gonna do this to my SVT and I was wondering what it would do to the height.

yeah it did a good two inche of lower, while maintaining stock ride quality almost. That is becuase of the great shocks i had on it though.
