It seems that the Gen1 and Gen2 interior switches/buttons weren't made with that much care or forethought. I had the same problems on my Gen2 that everyone is talking about here, though my Gen1 interior was flawless. I've had no issues (apart from the damn dash warpage problem) on my 'Tour in terms of the interior switches.

The 3.0 and 3.2L Yamaha engines in both were indestructable. Not so with the transmissions (especially on the ATX) or anything else mechanical underneath the hood.
