RTStabler - I wasnt trying to knock the SHO. They are sweet cars and I almost got one before I got my CSVT. The power and sound of the Yamaha v6 was *almost* good enough to compensate for the cheap-o interior, heavy understeer and notchy shifter.
Yes I would say its a better highway machine largely because it has much more room inside. However as far as "creature comforts" I'm not seeing a huge difference outside of the automatic climate control system.

Cheap-O interior? I understand your not knocking the car, but expressing your opinion, but Cheap-O interior? And not many more comfort features? Auto Climate control is awesome, secondly, the automatic headlights is another plus. I'll give you the design of the interior is outdated by today's standards. Now, if you want to talk creature comforts, then, the TBird SC/Cougar XR7 have tons...... enough of my tangent.
We need to set up a CSVT v SHO drag day somewhere like the SHO/GTP guys are doing. Then we can really see which car shines more in the 1/4....hell, I'll bring my two!

I'll race you Ryan.
Tell you what. I'll even give it only 3/4 throttle to make you feel good about the race too. DOH

I'm gonna go to our local drag strip and race somebody, just easy take off and we get even and honk it off like the street racers do, it'll be so funny.

Well maybe the 89-91 SHO's have a nicer interior and more creature comforts (I wouldn't be suprised as they are also faster and handle better than the Gen. II's ) However the Gen II's I have been in are pretty cheap from an interior quality standpoint. In my friend's 94 even driving over moderately bumpy roads causes the whole dash to jiggle and it is full of junky rattles. I have NEVER seen anything remotely like that from my SVT even when driving over the worst roads imaginable. Yes I like the T-Bird SC too. Can you say TORQUE? ...Although for ultimate pimp factor and creature comforts nothing beats the Mark VIII

Really? I'm going to pay cash for the car that replaces my contour after I sell it and it is between a sho and a thunderbird sc. I was leaning towards the sho because I thought the t-birds looked cheaper. I haven't seen an sc in person before. What does it have?

All depends Mikey.
If you want something along the lines of the contour just with more room, then the SHO is the way to go. If you want something, that responds to mods easier is RWD and sucks down gas, then the XR7 / SC is the way to go. When I say creature comforts in the SC/XR7, they have the VMM (Vehicle Maintenance Monitor) which tells you when your fluids are low nad when to change your oil. Also, has the automatic headlights, also, I believe its called auto-dimmer, when your brights are on and a car comes at you it shuts your brights off. When you pass'em, they come back on. auto dimming rearview mirror, etc etc.
I'm thinking aobut selling my XR7 already :-) Just hasn't grabbed me like my old SC was. Don't thinkt hey ever will again.

Only once though.
So actually that's saying you had a S/C on your SVT and beat me only once in our races.
