I'd say it has alot to do with whats out there right now to buy and/or whats coming out I mean stop and think about it, look at what I paid for my 2000 CSVT ($23.5K and w/ the Ford discount the car was $22K), what could/would you buy for $22K right now:

-Neon SRT-4 w/ enough left over to go right into the 13's!

-FSVT w/ enough left over to S/C it!

-Mini Cooper S which needs nothing!

-Mazda 3 w/ enough left over to mod nicely

-Sentra SE-R V-spec w/ enough left over to make it run VERY well

-WRX (year end closeout pricing)

-Lancer Ralliart w/enough left over to mod it out

These are a couple cars right off the top of my head and some of the reasons as to "why get rid of the CSVT?" That being said, I'm lookin' forward to modding my CSVT because I'm not done yet
