If you do that, leave enough wire on the connector piece so you can sell it and the amp on Ebay to those suckers that bought a Ford CD player thinking it would be an easy install. (Into their non-premium sound Ford vehicle).

Thanks for all of the replies fellas. I knew I was getting ripped by the install place, but I just wasn't 100% sure why everyone bypassed the factory amp. I figured if it wouldn't cause problems that I would leave it connected.

Viss1- That adapter is exactly what I'm looking for. Have you used it, or do you know of anyone who has used it? I just want ot make sure everything is legit with it before I go and get one.

No, sorry, I used the Crutchfield one just because I wanted to keep the number of plug-in connections to a minimum. I'm anal like that.
