Alpine Electronics, Inc. is owned and operated in Tokyo ever since the 60s BUT there is a loads of difference between the products built there and here in America/Canada. All of the American products have components from Alps Electric Comp. & are American. Even alot of different options you can get on new alpine ( ie: BBS(former Barry Barcus Electronics), RDS, & the entire "bass engine" tech. ) where designed here in America. Every Alpine product I own says made in China, only the speakers (SPR-175A) were designed in the USA, but still made in China. Everything else (V12 MRV-T757, CDA-7876) was desinged in Japan. It is true that BBE (The new models coming in may don't even use this) and certain features are from here, but the rest was built by a 6 year old boy for $.09/hr. :p
